Variable Inductors

Variable inductors are a type of passive component which allow the inductance to be changed easily. This type of inductor helps to provide current control and signal processing within electronic circuits, by using its variable inductance. The inductance is usually controlled by a moveable ferrite magnetic core. Moving the ferrite core further into the coil, through screwing or pushing, increases the inductance.

Where are variable inductors used?

Variable inductors are ideal for applications which require precise inductance and which may be sensitive to current changes. The variable inductance is also suitable for circuits which require tolerances.
